As part of the 20th Adult Learners' Week events in 2011, DBBC were presented with a NIACE Inspiring Learning Project Award sponsored by The Open University.

The presentation took place at the National Award Ceremony at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London on 16 May 2011, where we were interviewed on stage by TV presenter Philippa Forrester.

Sir David Attenborough was also presented with an award so we were in very good company!

In its first 11 years DBBC trained over 1000 students - many gaining their OCNW/Ascentis national qualification certificate and going on to further education or the work place. In recognition of its achievements DBBC won two National Training Awards (one for excellence), presented at the Guild Hall Ceremony in London.
